Imagination has no Age

SWAT
Drill #56
I love the dark background with the butterflies as well as the sunset colors of the flowers.
I melded the two into this imaginative piece.
I ripped the strips of paper from an old dictionary, then painted them with mist. Some of the colors are a mix of shades and mist types. I repeated the process in miniature to punch the butterflies.
The process curled all the paper tips up. It looks so vibrant in person.
I had to use rolled duct tape to get it to lay flat for the photo!
The mermaid and ship stencils are from Fun Fare.

The full quote as attributed to Walt Disney,
"Laughter is timeless. Imagination has no age, and Dreams are forever."

Plaid With Washi

Plaid is so often misunderstood!
It gets slipped in the same category as so many other fashion mistakes.
Can't you here the advice coumnists? “Don't mix patterns, it makes your outfit confusing.” Don't use too many bright colors, it's painful to the eye.” “Use plaid sparingly, it is difficult to accesorize.”
But WHAT IF you do all of those at once?
It's so wrong it's right!!!
For close-ups of these cards and a clear view of that DASHING washi plaid pattern

Paper Bouquet

SWAT
Special Ops Day
Paper Bouquet
This paper flower bouquet is the latest in bright colors and needs no water.
I used the Craft Smith Dip Dyed paper to make the multi colored flowers.
To add contrast to my bouquet I used strips of washi on black paper.
I tried out both a vertical and horizontal look. Both make eye-catching paper blooms.

Supplies:Paper:Craft Smith, Momenta
Gems:Recollections
Border Punches:Kreaxions

You Light Up The Room

I've started using my washi tape as ribbon by backing the tape with an identical pattern. This time I went a step further and made a ribbon rose.

Every Child is an Artist

SWAT
This months Mood Board is all about May Flowers.
What catches my eye is the lettering and the watercolor look. I tried to reproduce that with my letters and shapes.
~ Every Child is an Artist ~
Sidewalk chalk makes every surface an artist dream. I have outlawed the siding...but apparently that doesn't include the fence. Here my children were detailing animals for a very important game.
The alpha is a fabric based do-it-yourself style. I painted and dribbled mist on to the letters to get the watercolor effect. My washi tape shapes were a snap to make with all the bright colors that Love My Tapes offers.
The full quote as attributed to Pablo Picasso is:
"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up."
Supplies:
Paper:Blue Fern Studios
Washi:Love My Tapes
Alpha:American Crafts
Mist:Tattered Angels, Dylusions
Stamp:Inkadinkado

With Wings Out Spread

One of my favorite things about a photo shoot is the random-pose photos that can be cut out and scrapped with imagination. For this one Annalys was standing on a curb in front of a bush. Her foot tucked behind and arms relaxed looks just like a fairy in flight.
