Mini-Album pages 3 and 4

Todays blog post is more of the Glitz:Dance in Sunshine album from yesterday.

Page 3 is fairly simple. I used papers from DCWV:Chateau Lavender to compliment the teal background. I backed a diecut sticker from the Glitz collection with patterned paper and slipped it into the pocket I made with the photo mat.

The word stickers are also from the Glitz collection and the crown brad is stash.The ink is CTMH.

Page 4 uses a variety of prints from both collections and is decorated with washi tape from Michael's, Stickers from the Glitz collection, and stash brads and ribbon.

The green Stickles are ranger and the ink is CTMH.

The layers of washi tape form a hinge for the three page mini-with-in-a-mini.

I used MME stamps to border the pages.

Glitz Mini Album

I'm doing a Christmas mini-album swap for the first time. I used the Glitz Design: Dance in Sunshine collection for my foundation colors

 and added a bit of Chateau Lavender by DCWV for variety.

Here is the cover.

I used the aqua netting that came with the Glitz collection to make the posies. Purple Stickles embellish the edges of the cover and flower centers. Jolee's gems add bling and an EK Success punch details the center strip. The medallion sticker is also from the Glitz collection.

The inside cover of the mini shows how nicely Chateau Lavender meshes with Dance in Sunshine. The tags and photo mat are from that DCWV stack. The twine is The Twinery and the hydrangea punch is EK Success. The stickers are from the Glitz collection, the ink is CTMH, and the Washi tape is stash. The flower centers and corner detail are Hampton Art.

The papers from this page are all found in the Glitz collection as are the stickers. The ink and punches are mentioned above.

The best part about altered items is the fun of changing a common place item into a work of art. My item has definately undergone a transformation. Originally it was a hayrack for the bunny cage. When the latch bent and it became a hazard I snatched it up and added it to

my Altered Items stash.

Finally it gets to come out and play!

My daughter has a serious addiction to any type of Asian themed decor.

The Graphic 45 collection

Bird Song is just her thing.

She is thrilled to have this little bauble hanging in her room!

Lyndy Bear

Recently a college pal of mine joined me for a night of studying and carmel corn. Since we were at my house she wanted the tour and was thrilled with the scrap room. "Make me something you've never made before!!! Out of Pink and Black," she said, after taking in the array of finished projects and hoards of supplies. "Sure," I blithely replied.

But agreeing was the only easy part of this project. Paper was not meant to be eased in, stuffed, or jointed! I threw bits of this project across the room, and gave up on it at least once a day. Then in a flash the final piece of the puzzle came to me and now it is done.

This project is for the MME stamping challenge.

Traditionally such a bear will have embroidery on the seams so that it resembles a crazy quilt. Paper can't handle that type of abuse so instead I stamped the body pieces with various stamps from my many MME supplies.

To give Lyndy a refined air I have added a striped blossom on a velvet ribbon tied about her neck.

If you wish to make such a bear my first piece of advice to you would be, DON'T!!! This was agonizingly difficult and stretched my patience much to far. If you insist on making one, I would suggest having several of each sheet of paper. I made three heads and two sets of legs before finishing this bear.

Sculpture

Sometimes I really struggle with a sketch, particularly if I don't feel like it fits my style of scrapbooking. The sketch that inspired this layout was definately one of those times. Once I pushed through the awkward I really like what I came up with.

Beanie

These photos of my son dressed in windmill gear are sure to be scrapped again and again. For these two I played with the tint settings while I was photo editing and love how they turned out.

Besties

I'm participating in a new challenge this month!!!

For Kristi's challenge I looped Blue Ric-Rac to make the flower at the top.
