1st Day Bling

Practical Scrappers Ten Things Tuesday: Staples
We've done the staple feature more than once and this time I was really reaching for a new use of staples. I decided to hook them together into a chain and string them from brads like a banner. I used colored staples to add to my neon theme.

New Bombay '03

Thrilling Thursday on the Just Imagine Crafts blog today.
Stop by to get some close-ups of my butterflies, you are going to LOVE the textured look!!!
~ New Bombay '03 ~
This time we were to use word embellies. I used my word stickers and chipboard from my new Summer Stories by Teresa Collins.Sherri Funk totally inspired me to use my circle punch with the gold dot paper.
I used faux stitching on my banner pieces, gold-dot circles, and word stickers. I used machine stitching in black on the edges of my layout and photo mat. I also machine stitched in white on my photo. In addition, I took one stitch with my yellow twine and then tied a bow at the top of my photo mat. Finally, I used staples to simulate stitching to hold my yellow twine in the lower left corner.

I used a Glitter Alpha as well as stickles for my Candle Flames.
Stop by the Nuts About Sketches blog for a peek at the sketch and layouts from the rest of the DT.
~ Carousel Cake ~
My favorite cake as a child was Mom's Carousel Cake. It consisted of a plain round cake with candy sticks, animal crackers, and a paper tent. The first time Mom made me the cake I grabbed the tent off and wore it as a hat. For my oldest daughters second birthday, Mom made a Carousel Cake.
Annalys did her Mama proud! She grabbed that tent and popped it on her head.

Trendy Triangles is Drill #13 on the SWAT blog.
Stop by to take a look at all the inspiration. Be sure to create and post a project of your own.
I love that triangles can be arranged in to a star if you can just get the hexagon in the middle to look straight. To add a little pizazz to this card I traced out the points of the star with twine and added stitching to the border triangles.
