How To Make An Epic Layout With A Stencil

The background for this epic layout is made with a stencil and layers of Glimmer Glam. Shiny foiled paper makes the photo mat pop and multiple die-cuts add to the layers. The boy wears his mask like he is proud to be a
~ Fossil Face ~

The base of the layout is covered with a small print of circles, cubes, and stars. The central 8 inches of the paper is enhanced with sheer, sparkle paint, dabbed thru a stencil. To keep the colors clear I had to apply each color then wash and dry the stencil.
The photo mat is a rectangle of patterned paper topped with a rectangle of foiled paper. Best Glue Ever holds the foiled paper without leaving wet marks or wrinkles.
The die-cut arrows and gears are applied with thin strips or dots of Best Glue Ever.
An thin outline of Best Glue Ever holds the foil lined mandala strips to the layout.
Another layer of die-cuts, these with minuscule gluing surfaces, are added to the layout. The No-Clog Writing Cap places the glue exactly where it is needed.
A thin strip of Best Glue Ever attaches a strip of craft foam to the border stickers.
White, fabric thickers are painted with the same blue, glitter paint used with the stencil.
Each alpha is dotted with Best Glue Ever then placed on the layout.
From this angle you can see the dimension the craft foam gives the embellishments.
Although the finished product covers nearly half of the stenciled background, the colored circles still enhance the layout and give the page depth.

How To Free-hand Paint a Canvas Bag

How about a canvas pen bag with a balloon scene painted free hand? Painting on canvas is a classical art. But don't wait for stretched or treated canvas to get started. Just grab the nearest canvas blank from Canvas Corp Brands, a few bottles of Glimmer Glam, and start spreading happiness!
Crafting with Canvas is the Summer Crew Challenge at CCB.  For my entry I used this sweet little bag. It is canvas on one side and burlap on the other and measures 5.5" by 7.5". It also has a zipper which makes it perfect for pens. Find it on line:
I wanted to take my tote with me so did a little altering. I set an eyelet at each end of the bag on the canvas side.  Then I laced a 10" length of Natural Hemp Cord through the eyelets and attached it to the rings with slip knots.
The tassel is all about glitz and glam. I used embroidery floss in pink, green, and gold to compliment the bag colors and a pewter balloon charm. These hang from silver links, attached to a blue and gold beaded zipper pull.

How To Make A Stunning Mixed Media Mermaid

This stunning mixed media card has a mermaid silhouette made from Calambour 3D Glossy Gel. The gel was applied thickly through a stencil with a brush to leave a nubby texture. Foiled and patterned paper in a Copper and Turquoise color scheme offer the reader a Great Day.
The base of this card is a 4x6" piece of patterned cardstock. I placed a slightly smaller paper over it, then painted the edges with Chalkboard Mist.
I pair of concentric ovals in copper and turquoise shape the center. Best Glue Ever in scant amounts holds the foiled paper to the base.
The mermaid is painted on the center piece with a home made stencil and 3D Glossy Gel.
After allowing the mermaid to dry thoroughly, a few stripes of Best Glue Ever secure the top oval in place.
The sentiment is popped up with the help of craft foam and dots of Best Glue Ever. The No-Clog Writing Cap ensures the glue goes only where it is needed.
A cluster of shell stickers adorn the corner and the card is complete.

Patterned Paper:Authentique
Foiled Paper:Rinea

How To Layer Llamas for a Stunning Page

Today's layout is a shining example of how to layer llamas for a stunning page. Paprika paper collection from Photoplay Paper is bright and cheery and scattered with merry llamas. With a bit of texture and a few added die-cuts the whole layout has a happy feel.
~ Shine ~
I started the background texture for this layout with Rub-ons, Calambour 3D Gel, Nuvo Embellishment Mousse, and tissue paper images.
A couple layers of gloss medium and lots of drying time secured the edges of the tissue paper.
The photo mat started with patterned paper and finished up with a flourish of product packaging. I even made a few clips with ribbon ends.
I left the edges of the photo mat loose, only adding glue to the center so that I had room to scatter stickers and paper shapes around the edges.
The orange blossoms and tissue paper leaves at the edge of the photo are separated with stacks of craft foam.
The laser cut chipboard was rubbed with Nuvo Embellishment Mousse then layered over the orange blossoms with a few drops of Best Glue Ever.
A variety of die-cut doilies are stacked at the corners of the photo mat and interspersed with the blossoms.
The lacy edges of the doilies are echoed in the white outlines of the flourish on the photo mat base. The llamas add a touch of whimsy while the triangles of mandala set this layout apart. The lime lace and matching chipboard and the final touch of spice.

How To Make A Congratulations Card That Shines

Today's project is a Congratulations card that shines. Rinea Foiled Paper and Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist work together to give the dragon a spark of personality. Best Glue Ever from ScraPerfect works behind the scenes to keep things secure.
~ Congratulations ~
The dragon medallion is a stamped and embossed image. I painted it with Glimmer Mist to give it a water color effect. I used a corrugated circular die to cut out the dragon.
The base of this card is a 4"x 6" piece of emerald Rinea Foiled Paper. On top of that I placed a slightly smaller piece of black cardstock with the word Congratulations cut out from it with a die.
I used Best Glue Ever to go all around the word. To get in the small spaces with out over doing it I used a No-Clog Writing Cap.

The dragon medallion is centered on a strip of gold foiled paper with scant amounts of BGE.
After letting the glue set a minute I added thin strips of Best Glue Ever to the back of the gold foiled paper and centered it below the sentiment.
I spread a thin layer of BGE on the card blank to hold the base down and the card was finished.
Best Glue Ever adheres to smooth surfaces without wrinkling the paper. The No-Clog Writing Cap helps me get glue in all the nooks and crannies. ScraPerfect products make this card a success.
Supplies:
Cardstock:Recollections
Patterned Paper:Fancy Pants
Foiled Paper:Rinea
Water Colors:Tattered Angels
Embossing Powder:Wow
Metal Dies:Peachy Cheap, Echo Park
Stamp:Stash
Adhesive:Best Glue Ever

How To Make A Homecoming Layout With Best Glue Ever

The uneven surface on this homecoming layout was not an obstacle for Best Glue Ever. I adhered patterned paper, craft foam, and stickers right over all the little ridges. The result is a wonderfully messy page with great staying power!
~ Homecoming 2015 ~
The first layers on this page were made with Nuvo Embellishment paste and stencils. This created texture, depth, and an uneven surface. Best Glue Ever sticks to anything so I had no concerns.
I cut the photo mats at a 1/4" and a 1/2" larger than the photo and used BGE to layer them.
Thin stripes of BGE attached the photo to the layered mat.
The geometric diecut had very thin strips of paper but a No-Clog Writing Cap made it easy to add tiny dots of BGE to the paper. The die-cuts were placed on either side of the photo mat.
Foam tape is easily replaced with craft foam and BGE. I glued to squares to the back of the photo mat. It only take s a couple minutes to set and is so efficient to use.
More BGE adhered the photo mat cluster to the layout.
A couple minutes to set and my photo was immovable, despite the uneven layers of mixed media.
I adhered another geometric die-cut to the upper left corner. Once again the No-Clog Writing Cap gave me ultimate control and the ability to place only tiny dots on the paper.
I arranged the diecut onto the cardstock and mixed media surface then trimmed off the edge.
My title was next, but I knew those alpha stickers would not adhere to the variety of surfaces. No worries, a couple drops of BGE and my title was secure. I used a strip of paper to keep the letters even.
A few stickers and my layout was complete. Best Glue Ever worked for every surface and material I used. ScraPerfect has BGE, No-Clog Writing Caps and a variety of other crafty tools.

Patterned Paper:Photo Play Paper, Fancy Pants
Stickers, Title:Studio Calico
Large Alpha:American Crafts
Mixed Media Paste:Tonic Studios
Stencils:Kite, TCW
