How To Make A Breathtaking Carousel For An Epic Birthday

Today I bring you a tutorial on how to make a breathtaking carousel for an epic birthday. My daughter's Sweet Sixteen is next week and I have been flooded with constant memories of my three kiddos growing years. This cheery carousel describes the delightful glow I get when thinking of them!
~ Birthday Adventure~
ScraPerfect designers are creating with Lawn Fawn products and I couldn't be more thrilled! I was sent the Bicycle Built For You stamp and die set as part of our cross promo. It is one of the cutest sets I have ever played with!
This sweet wooden carousel from Sea-Land stands about 9" high and has a 7" diameter. I assembled a rough draft so I could determine the alterations I would make with the structure. These balsa wood puzzle kits are fragile so repairs and replacements are common.
The pieces were coated with a waxy substance to prevent splintering, but it also prevented me from painting or gluing the pieces on one side. ScraPerfect to the rescue! I sprayed the pieces lightly with the Best Cleaner Ever then scrubbed the waxy film off. I wiped them with a rag and they were ready for painting or covering with paper. The entire carousel is decorated using the Perfectly Plaid Rainbow 6x6 paper pad from Lawn Fawn.
As the wood pieces dried I stamped the design elements and cut them using the coordinating Lawn Cuts Dies. The balloons were painted with the vibrant colors of Dylusions Ink Spray.
I dotted the Best Glue Ever onto the wood and smoothed the paper over the top. This glue dries without leaving ripples in the paper and is so strong it should be used sparingly.
The assembled carousel had a lot of holes and irregularities. I added washi tape between the roof sections, pom-pom trim around the roof edges and vintage ric-rac around the floor edges.
To enhance the birthday theme I used sentiments from the stamp set on strips of paper and added them to the roof with dimensional adhesive.
ScraPerfect has both Holographic and Solid Transfer Foils. The central panels are decorated with Holographic Foil in place of mirrors.
The bicycles are foiled in holographic gold, green, purple, and blue.
These ADORABLE children represent my three kiddos with their assortment of pets. Their hair and bicycles are colored with marker and mist. I used the Bicycle Built For You stamps and the Perfectly Plaid Rainbow Paper to fashion their outfits. The tiny flower and hearts stamps that come with the set fit perfectly on the clothing.

This carousel project is my entry for

How To Make a Nifty Gatsby Inspired Gift Set

With the right supplies it's so easy to make a nifty Gatsby Inspired gift set. I love the glitz and glamor of the Roaring Twenties. I ran across a vintage vanity bottle while out thrifting and visions of flapper girls with pin curls and beaded gowns danced through my head. Of course it came home with me, and here it is in all its altered glory.
Although this bottle is probably a much later style, it still has the metal filigree reminiscent of the 1920's. With a new color scheme and sprinkling of gems this item looks ready to join the trinkets on Daisy Buchanan's vanity table.
The tarnished metal cap and removable filigree base were carefully painted and left to dry. I used Deco Art Metallic Acrylic Paint, in Shimmering Silver. The cap was difficult as it is filigree over plastic and I didn't want gobs of paint to muck up the delicate style.
I glued lavender Diamond Dew Drops around the base in sets of three.
The base was uneven at the back, where the metal overlapped.
I added dots of Scraperfect's Best Glue Ever and let them dry.
This provided an even surface so I could continue my pattern.
The bottle received a good wash to remove finger prints and then
a dab of the Best Cleaner Ever to remove the price sticker residue.
To enhance the lavender and silver theme I decided a strip of Holographic Transfer Foil should go around the bottle. I used washi tape to block out a space then painted it with a VERY thin layer of the Best Glue Ever. I removed the tape and left the bottle to dry to a translucent finish.
I laid transfer foil over the glue, pressed it firmly onto the glue, then quickly removed the foil.
I quickly discovered all the places I had missed with the glue and foil and patched those spots.
To define the edges of the foil I painted them with Shimmering Silver,
once again using the washi tape to ensure straight lines.
Pearl toned Diamond and Mini Dew Drops complete the Art Deco design.
The card is made from Robin's Nest Papers and Cards.
The base is a 4x6 piece of Snow Covered Trees Cardstock layered with Smoky Chevron Cardstock. The cards are from the Aristocratic Blues Collection and the Orange Crush Collection.
The black doily and corners are made using Kreaxions 4in1 Punch #305 on a 3in circle.
I used Obsidian Diamond Dew Drops and Silver Bells Dew Drops to accent the card.
The dew drops are difficult to place exactly so I used the Embellie Gellie System
and a drop of the Best Glue Ever to secure them.
Stop by ScraPerfect for other products that will ease your crafting woes.
Together these Gatsby Inspired items make a luxurious gift set.
Since I enjoy making these pretties more than I enjoy keeping them,
I am on the lookout for someone to gift them to!

How To Make an Adorable Card using Stunning Foil

Start with delightful subjects, that's how to make an adorable card using stunning foil. This card turned out fantastic and was a breeze to put together. The use of Transfer Foil just bumps it up a notch! ScraPerfect and Lawn Fawn are participating in a cross promo and I am thrilled with the product that I was sent from Lawn Fawn. What could be cuter than this stamp and die set, Bicycle Built For You?
~ Happy Adopt -A- Versary ~
ScraPerfect has regular and holographic Transfer Foil. For this card I used the Holographic Green. The Best Glue Ever is the perfect formula for applying the foil. The fine tip No Clog Writing Cap helps to apply and spread the glue thinly. From there it is easy enough to let it dry to a clear gloss, place foil, rub vigorously, and remove the foil quickly. And then, SPARKLES GALORE!
The paper I used for this card is also a Lawn Fawn product. The purple, green, and multi colored plaids come from the Perfectly Plaid 6x6 paper pad. I love the happy vibe these papers give off!
Thanks for viewing my Lime and Grape delight!

Supplies:
Plaid Paper, Stamps, Dies:Lawn Fawn
Solid Cardstock:Recollections
Transfer Foil, Adhesive:ScraPerfect

How To Make an Easy Yet Beautiful 3D Paper Rose

Today's post is all about how to make an easy yet beautiful 3D paper Rose in just three steps. This dazzling flower starts with a sheet of Robin's Nest Cardstock. With a snip and swirl a garden of black and silver roses bloom across your card.
~ Touch The Stars ~
The Silver Roses Glitter Cardstock has roses scattered randomly across it. Find it and the other beautiful papers and embellishments used for this card at The Robin's Nest store.
Directions:
Step 1) Carefully cut a rose along the silver outer edge.
Step 2) Cut that rose into a spiral, using the silver line as a vague pattern.
Step 3) Starting at the center, curl and glue the paper into a rounded shape. Press the glued surfaces together until the adhesive bonds before moving onto the next portion.
ScraPerfect provides the exact tools needed for this project. The Best Glue Ever is the just-right bonding strength and the large No-Clog Writing Cap allows you to place a single dot of glue at strategic points.
Embellishments:
Metallic Trim:Pink Straw
Pink Tag Sticker:Daughter Stickers
Moon card:Rosy Cards
Doily:Punched from Rosy Diamond Cardstock with Kreaxions Punch #913
Butterfly:Punched from Rosy Chevron Cardstock with Kreaxions Punch #604
In the US Kreaxions product are available from Just Imagine Crafts.
This card is a 5x7" base of Smoky Chevron Cardstock with a 4.5 x 6.5" layer of Wedding Cut-Outs Cardstock over the top. For a finishing touch I used the Best Glue Ever to add Metallic Pink Dew Drops to the roses, butterfly, and doily.

How To Make Your Cardstock Letters Absolutely Perfect

While playing around with my crafting tools I came up with this way to make your cardstock letters absolutely perfect. I cut the letters from Kreaxions Glitter Paper using the Mini-Alphabet Punch Board from We R Memory Keepers. I used Kreaxions Punch #303 for the letter tips and corners. It took a few tries to perfect my process, but the results are stunning!
~ SPRING~
I also used Punch #303 on opposing corners of my
yellow Kreaxions Duo Paper
Kreaxions Star and B Stencils helped mark out the places to punch then trimmed the excess paper back so the points stood out.
The Robin's Nest supplied the final touches for this card, the Pink Dew Drops and the Green Diamond Drops as well as those Purple Butterfly Drops.
And to hold those shiny bits of bling on I count on ScraPerfect and there resin adhesive, the Best Glue Ever. Just a drop is enough to keep them attached.
March 1st is team reveal day for
  Just Imagine Crafts.
Stop by the blog to see what our designers have created and which punches are on sale for the next two weeks!!!
