How To Create Drama With Only Two Colors

Today's project is a clean and simple layout that creates drama with only two colors. I started with a 12x12 of black cardstock and added depth and interest with stamps and heat embossing. Only the Peachy Cheap wood shapes of clouds and gears relieve the monochrome color scheme.
~ Split Rock Lighthouse ~
This month the color prompt from White With 1 is:
This vacation photo of a mist shrouded lighthouse is perfect for the color scheme. Adding nautical themed stamps sets it off strikingly. The mermaid above and the nautilus below hold the photo aloft.
The looped rope stamp is heat embossed with black ink onto white cardstock. I fussy cut the rope and used a die inside the loops. The looped rope boarder is glued over the matted photo. Twine strung through the loops is tied over a silver brad.
Wood gear shapes are scattered around the nautilus shell. Two small brads hold the twine below the photo.
The ocean waves were stamped, heat embossed, then fussy cut. I popped them up with craft foam and layered them below the ship. A length of twine runs from the ship to the anchor below the waves. Wood cloud shapes from Peachy Cheap complete the scene.

How To Make a Layout With Foiled Paper Outlines

Today's project is a bright and sassy floral layout with emerald foiled paper outlines. This photo of my daughter in pink needed surroundings as ready to make a statement as she is. I used the Rooftop Garden collection from Craft Smith for the patterned papers of this layout.
~ You Got This ~
I fussy cut the flower strips and glued them onto strips of emerald Rinea foiled paper. I fussy cut the outline to help the flowers standout against the pink background. Next I layered the flowers with a wide striped paper.
The title is fussy cut from the Rooftop Garden collection journal cards. Strands of green gems lay across the title words and individual gems decorate the bicycle hubs. The aqua die-cut paper is Recollections. The fuchsia strip of Rinea foiled paper is detailed with a Martha Stewart border punch.
The bicycle is cut with a Peachy Cheap spring die from aqua grid paper. It settles nicely against the bicycle print photo mat.
The flowers here are all by Recollections in a variety of green shades.  The wood leaves and flowers are from Peachy Cheap.

Album With Handmade Flowers and Window Casement

Today's project is a spiral album with handmade flowers draped around a window casement. The Tattered Walls kit from 123 Scrap With Me has just the right supplies to make a photo album or garden diary. The spiral binding, vine cutting die, and Lilac Nuvo Mousse are not from the original kit.
~ Moments ~
The album cover is made with two layers. The base layer is cut from Blue Fern Studios Tattered Walls:Apartment B. I punched the holes for the spiral in both layers before embellishing. The included TCW Stencil:Screen Print and Toasted Almond Nuvo Embellishment Paste were used to create a "curtain".
To complete the base layer I added the books from the 7gypsies Architextures. I also placed craft foam on the back of the window frame.
Together the give the illusion of looking into a well appointed sitting room.
Handmade flowers were next on my agenda.
Step 1:Punch 10 circles from BFS Tattered Walls:Suite 204. Coat the rim with Lilac Nuvo Mousse.
Step 2:Fold the circles so that a dark rim from the underside shows.
Step 3:Fold the circle, accordion style, in thirds.
Step 4:Add glue between the tiers and clamp till dry.
Using a Tim Hotz die I cut a variety of vines from BFS Tattered Walls:The Library. I cut the Bumble Bee from BFS Tattered Walls:The Garage. I spread Toasted Almond Nuvo Mousse on the Bees wings.
I glued the vines to the left and upper edges of the Kaiser Craft Window Frame.
Finally, I adhered the bee to the upper left corner and the Moments tag from BFS Tattered Walls:Ephemera below it.

How To Make a Mixed Media Layout With Doodles and Diecuts

Today's projects is a mixed media layout with doodles, diecuts, and lots of little accessories. It's launch day for My Sketch World. Lucy Chesna is back after a 5 year hiatus and has a wonderful reveal prepared for her first month back.
~ These Little Moments ~
I ordered the Photo Play Paper:Moments In Time collection as soon as it began shipping. I have a soft spot for Eiffel Tower images and dress forms. This lovely collection has both so it was a guaranteed buy.
I used a Pink Paislee stamp with heat set embossing powder on water color paper for the pink and blue flowers. I fussy cut them and painted with CTMH watercolors. I popped them up with a bit of craft foam.
I have an old set of Kiwi Lane hexagon dies. I cut 2 of each size then layered them on the photo corners. I added doodling around the edges and liquid pearls on top.
Echo Park flourish dies turned out more layering components. I doodled around the flourishes and then scattered sequins. Underneath it all is a square of Nuvo Embellishment Mousse in blue and green, run through a Kite stencil.
Here is a look at Lucy's June 1st sketch.
