A Layout To Celebrates Our Ginger Kitty

Today's project is a layout that celebrates the wonderful character of our ginger kitty. The Big Eyed Kitty is a rescue cat that attached himself to me while I was working for the Humane Society in North Dakota. He quickly became a therapy animal for us. When one of us is sad or anxious he is right there to lend the furry paw of comfort.

Blue and yellow are my favorite scrapping colors. I have made some of my best layouts with them. The blues and yellows of Bo Bunny's Genevieve collection are off set by grey and are perfect for my scrapping style.
I was inspired by Paper Issues April Sketch. I flipped it vertically and placed hexagons for the stars. Striped paper replaces the strips behind the photo.
In order to participate with  Scrap The Boys April Challenge I started with punched hexagons in two sizes. I punched a cat shape out of the large hexagons and backed them with yellow craft foam for loft and for contrast.
Flourishes diecut from grey cardstock are topped with an assortment of gems and pearls. Underneath these on either corner are stamped and embossed flourishes. This grouping is crowned with bright flowers.
The star of the show is The Big Eyed Kitty. In order to make him stand out I fussy cut the photo, matted him with blue cardstock, and popped him up with more craft foam. From the side you can see the layers and depth of the central figure.
A bit of twine under the photo attaches the "fuzzy" tag. Twine is a long time love of mine and shows up often on my projects.
A couple cute phrases cat enthusiasts use are off to the side in tiny type. I used different alphas but kept the letters in grey. I also dug deep into my stash and scattered gems, and enamel dots at the corners.
This layout is also an entry for Tic Tac Toe Challenge #42. I used the top right to lower left diagonal row. Stripes at center, hexagon and cat punches surround the photo, and there are lots of layers.
At a later date I will post the tutorial for this single photo layout. I am particularly pleased with the fussy cut and matted cat. Of course I used ScraPerfect glue to hold it all together.

    1. Thanks Sue! The cat is definitely a boy, I am not in Australia so I don't qualify for the prize anyway, but the challenge itself is fun to participate with. I like to see what the STB dt post for inspiration.
