Quick and Easy Stitched Sequin Layout

This porcupine layout features wood grain paper and a row of stitched sequin hearts. This sweet little lady had quite a thing for carrots. She was thrilled to waddle up to Si and eat out of his hand, then search for more.
~ Prickle Pig ~
I echoed the heart shape in veneer, felt, cork, and cut outs along the photo edges. The bird is a feature of the patterned paper. I added gems to the branch and butterflies. Prima flowers with the 5th petal trimmed into antenna made delicate butterfly embellishments.
I added a strip of lavender washi tape to the lower edge of the photo mat. I used the dots on the tape as a guide for stitching sequin hearts to the page. I included a spray of sequins that runs from the lower left corner to the upper right.
This is my entry for the January Scrappy Friends Challenge
Here is the sketch from Rochelle Spears.
This challenge is combined with Stacy's Tic Tac Toe Challenge.
I used the far left vertical row.

Very Fortunate Events Stash Buster Layout

When you can't choose which paper or alpha to use you throw them all together and make a Stash Buster layout. The layers on this page just kept adding up as I cut new windows. I ended up four layers deep and then started adding flowers.
~ A Series Of UN VERY Fortunate Events ~
Three teens in the same house, what could go wrong? Nothing! These kids are a delight and a treasure. They are fairly calm, get along well, and enjoy school. A series of VERY fortunate events keep us together.
A pale green patterned paper with a diamond cut Vine and Vase paper started my layout. I decided a few windows would add interest and got busy with my craft knife. Of course, where one is good two is better so I cut all but the east and west points of the diamond.

I wanted the dark blue paper to show through the windows, but I also wanted to roll it and have it show through the widows. I cut a diamond and a large "V" out of the dark blue paper to fit under the corresponding windows. I flipped the "V" over and and adhered the papers to the underside of my layout.
The windows showing the gingham pattern were cut from corner to corner. I rolled these bits up and the dark blue paper was on display. Of course that left MORE holes. I added kraft paper as my final backing.
The windows needed something more so I added flowers in shades that complimented my papers. I didn't have any yellow flowers so I misted a white one to get the correct shade. I punched a few tiny flowers and misted those to match as well.
This layout is my entry for the Paper / Sketch Challenge. Rochelle offers this sketch and the use of kraft paper as a requirement.

Simple Layout With Stars And Die-Cuts

Today I have a simple layout with stars and diecuts stacked for embellishment. The photos tell the story of my daughters creation of an ugly Christmas sweater. This story begins with a previously posted double page layout of my son's sweater project.
~ Hard @ Work ~
This layout is my entry for Brenda's History Challenge. I chose Fact #2 as my inspiration. The prompt was to use SMS language in honor of Alexander Graham Bell's patent of the telephone. In my title I used the @ symbol and added the text-ese heart, a "v" and "3".

This layout is also my entry for Rochelle's Challenge. Her prompts were a sketch and graph paper. I cut and stacked blue and white graph paper for a title card. I followed her sketch, turning it on it's side to incorporate my photo orientation.
For her Ugly Christmas Sweater my daughter portrayed Totoro. We do love Miyazaki's Studio Ghibli films. My Neighbor Totoro is his third film for that company and is based on a child's ability to "see" what adults have forgotten. This carefully cut and stitched, felt Totoro is holding a Christmas tree.
I fussy cut yellow roses and clustered them with stars and flourish die-cuts on diagonal corners of the layout.
I used layers of washi tape, more stars, and ribbon on the opposite side of the title card to balance the photo mat.
This two-photo layout is my entry for the March Scrappy Friends Challenge. I have combined both Rochelle's and Brenda's challenge for a third entry. I have enjoyed participating and hope that you will give it a try!
