Aqua, Pink, and Perfect

I've been using the recent series of sketches from Scrapbook Steals to complete last years summer photo shoot. Matching paper colors between companies has been a challenge, but so much fun. The first layout in this set uses Authentique.

~ Aqua, Pink, & Perfect ~

For this second layout I matched the previous pages colors using Craft Smith Paper. To keep visual continuity I used the same ribbon and washi tapes as well as chipboard and cork.

 I added a strip of punched butterflies to the right of the photo on the first layout and to the top left of the second layout.

Best Wishes

Wishes! Wishes! Wishes!

Falling Stars, Dandelion Puffs, Feathers...so many things symbolize a wish. The wish culture in my family is so strong that every eye-lash and wishbone must be dealt with properly. 

I never have grown too old for wishes!

This spring my middle schooler brought home the first two wishes (dandelion puffs) of the season. One was for her and one for her brother. Suddenly the most important thing to do was stand outside and blow those wishes!

Hello

 My children are enjoying Alaska this summer but are definitely missing home. I get plenty of texts and phone calls. My good night texts from my eldest are my favorite. This one ends with
"I love u to Pluto and back, night."

The bright colors from this collection make me happy. The typewriter and yellow circle washi tape can both be found in the Love My Tapes etsy shop. The look as if they were part of the paper kit.

Lego Puns

If you've got a thing for Legos then you probably have a stash of punny lego sayings. I dusted off my meager supply and illustrated them with the Fun Fare Lego Stencil. Hope this gives you some ideas!

 

To make these quick cards I used a black marker

 to trace and color in the lego stencil.

My Heart Danced

I've spent July scrapping through last years summer photo shoot. 

So many great photos of my kids!
This one was taken while she was waiting her turn for a portrait.

 Matching the flowers to the washi tape to the fussy cut elements made this a fun treasure hunt through my supplies. The leaves the pair of birds are nestled in were painted with tattered angels mist.

Ruby Slippers

I am always on the hunt for that exotic pair of sandals while I am out shopping. One day this summer I hit shoe-Queen GOLD!!! These lovely, strappy, confections of red and braided cord were the cherry on my ice-cream tuesday. 

(Cause that's discount day at my fav place!)

I knew the focus of my layout needed to be the bright red of the sandals. I added Dylusions mist in Postbox Red, Inka Gold Metallic Rub in Lava Red, and Echo Park Tiny Type and Alphas from Merry and Bright.

To compliment the red I added doilies and flowers in kraft and placed it all on a grey toned sheet from Craftsmiths Dip Dyed paper pad.

Family of Four

 I enjoy scrapping multiples of group photos. If you take the time to look at each one you will see expressions that tell different stories.

While stamping my title I slipped and the letters smeared. I corrected my mistake with a cork embellishment and tried again. I added a few more cork elements to even out the look.
