Hello Gorgeous, Epic Niece Layout

This gorgeous niece of mine once again makes an appearance on an epic layout. This layered, painted, distressed page looks like June roses and blue skies. Megan always proves to be an excellent subject. I think it might be the impish grin! This time I've used Julie Nutting's French Flea Market collection highlighted with Rinea Foiled Paper.
I've been ever so inspired by Marilyn Rivera's tearing technique. Her gorgeous work is easy to find on Instagram @marilynriverap4.  I really don't know how she achieves the torn-and-tinted look but I arranged it with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, Vintage Pink. I painted the mist onto the cardstock and let it soak thru. Then I peeled back strips of the damp paper.
The blue and white patterned paper peeks out between the torn strips and on either side of the script paper. I added long pieces of Blush/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper and Turquoise/Turquoise Starstruck Foiled Paper between the layers of cardstock.
Across the top and side of the layout base I used border punched layers. The very top piece is the Turquoise Starstruck again.
Still hungry for layers and loft I cut, inked, and staggered several bingo cards from the paper pack. They are set on three different levels. I had to build the middle portion up with foam tape to stabilize the photo.
Another use for my Peachy Cheap Spring dies below. The bicycle cut from blue and pink rosebud calico echoes the pattern of my nieces blouse. More Turquoise Starstruck layers with a Crafter's Companion frame die round out the collage.
Fussy cut roses with inked and curled edges add to the photo corner. Lots of foam tape in evidence here.
Although pink is rarely my color of choice, I sure am happy to have had some on hand. This photo was stunning to start with, but now it glows in an epic setting. Who says school photos are embarassing?

How To Make Surprisingly Beautiful Layered Cards

Beautiful layered cards are surprisingly easy to make. Grab a Variety Pack of Foiled Paper from Rinea, choose corresponding dies, and put it all together. The wow factor is in the glow foiled paper brings to every project.
Step 1: Gather and die cut card pieces.
The first step in creating Winter Wishes is to die cut each of the pieces. Because I was making a shaker card, I also die cut the card front. Not pictured below is the piece of acetate I used for the window and the 5x7 white card blank.
The snow flakes and sentiment plaque are cut from Rinea's Frosted Foiled Paper Variety Pack.
Step 2: Create the shaker using two layers of foam tape, add sequins.
Frankly, this is not my strong point. It took a lot of piecing of foam tape around the snow flake and the acetate window to get the shaker just right. I also ran a line of foam tape around the perimeter of the card. Don't forget to add the sequins before placing the card front on the base. 😕
Step 3: Adhere foiled paper snowflakes to front of card.
I like to use Best Glue Ever from ScraPerfect. Just a few drops will hold the snowflakes in place. The foil is easily embossed and a bulky spot of glue will show.
The instructions for Best Wishes are simple: Gather, Diecut, Assemble.
When die cutting the foiled paper it is helpful to use washi tape to hold the die in place. Intricate dies take a few passes through the rollers and having the die slip is disastrous.
The balloon and sentiment for this card are 1/16 of an inch in places! I find that using a No-Clog Writing Cap assists in getting the glue exactly where I want it.
I added glitter glue to my design. I love the color and sparkle it adds.
This card shows how easy it is to take traditional Christmas colors into the rest of the year. I used the Jolly Foiled Paper Variety Pack for this card.

Rinea foiled paper brings on the glamour while ScraPerfect glue and accessories make construction possible.

All The Best

Today's project is a Mason Jar card.
~ Wishing You All The Best ~
To make this card I stamped the mason jar twice.
Once on the card front and a second time, on green paper.
With a bit of work with my craft knife I had second dimension for my card. I used dimensional adhesive to pop it up. I over stamped when I was adding the dandelion wishes so I tied on a twine bow and called it good.

Supplies:
Paper:Craftsmith
Stamps:CTMH, Little Yellow Bicycle
Alpha Stamps:Mason Row Pegs
Ink:ColorBox
Glitter Glue:Ranger
Twine:stash

Paper Cones

Need more photo clips for all those Christmas pics of family?
Throw together some nifty paper cones in off season colors and you are all set!

I like the tone on tone grey swirl from Craft Smith, Crystal Frost.
To make the cone with the lime splash I used Kreaxions punch #310.
1) Punch a 6" long strip of paper, trim to .5" above the design to get the correct width.
2) Layer and adhere punched strips over 9" x 5.5" rectangle of contrasting paper.

3) Set circle cutter to 9". Trace a half circle on the back of the rectangle strip.
4) Cut out circle and fold paper into cone. Fasten with brads.
5) Cut a .5" to 1" slit in the point of the cone for holding photos or cards.
Use your new paper cones year round for displaying your favorite photos!

Supplies:
Paper:Craftsmith, Recollections
Punch and Circle Cutter:Kreaxions

Hello Fall

Today's project is an Autumn banner.
Our rainy weather dried up just long enough to grab a photo on my wooden fence. So quaint!
~ Hello Fall ~
I like to use journal blocks for quick projects. For this one I just rounded the corners and adhered them to the circles.

Tic Tac Tape

As the summer winds down it's time to start thinking about indoor activities to keep the kids busy. Children learn to play tic-tac-toe quite young. Soon hash marks begin showing up on every scrap of paper, including the sidewalk, the car window, and eep! the electric bill.
Make a large version of the game to ward off the curse of the hash marks and entertain the littles. Stop by the Love My Tapes and Just Imagine Crafts blogs for tips and close-ups.
