How To Make Tiny Details Quick And Easy

Today's project is a quick tip for making tiny details stick easily. This page from my homemade journal has thin die-cuts. In fact, the lines on these die-cuts are less than 1/16 of an inch. The foiled paper looks fabulous but needs a little extra help to stay put.
~ Storytime ~
The solution is simple with a little help from ScraPerfect products.
This glue tip screws on to a variety of products and gives the crafter ultimate control.
#2) The Best Glue Ever
Just a drop or two along the sides, top, middle band, and basket hold this foiled paper balloon to the page.
This page of my journal shows a variety of uses for BGE. The felt ric-rac, the foiled paper balloons, and the card stock balloon are all held down with the same product. No need to switch between bottles of adhesive. One does it all!

Supplies:
Cardstock & Rub-Ons:7 Gypsies
Foiled Paper:Rinea
Paper Diecut:American Crafts
Stickles:Ranger
Die:China
Ric-Rac:Little Yellow Bicycle

How To Make An Unusual And Attractive Window

This tutorial for how to make an attractive window is unusual because it is made from foiled paper. I love the look of stained glass and Rinea Foiled Paper gives me the opportunity to do that simply and quickly. Follow along with the steps below to make your own shimmering decor!
~ Foiled Koi Window ~
Step One: Print or draw a pattern for a stained glass window.
Choose a graceful image that can be broken into parts with simple lines. I chose a Koi fish. Pinterest and Google abound with free patterns for Stained Glass windows. I found it just as easy to draw my fish and sea weed on whiteboard paper. By using a dry-erase marker I could easily erase and re-draw till I got my lines just so.
Step Two: Trace and Cut pattern from foiled paper.
I cut my Koi from Rinea Marigold Start Struck paper. The back fin is from Rinea Mocha Glossy paper and the sea weed strands are Rinea Emerald Star Struck paper. I added details to the fish and the fin with Rinea Ghost Ink. For the scattering of scales I used a quarter foil stencil.
Step Three:Cut window paper and adhere to backing.
My window is cut from a roll of Rinea Silver Star Struck paper. I used an 11"x14" piece of cardboard. I wanted my foil base to be rock solid AND I wanted to see the window frame without using lines or separate pieces. To get this look I used inch wide super sticky tape.
Getting the foiled paper onto the cardboard base without mistakes took steady hands and a good game plan. I cut my silver paper to 12"x15" size. With a 1/2 inch of playroom on each side I had a good chance of getting the cardboard covered even if it was a tad crooked. I rolled the foiled paper then laid it on the cardboard as straight as I could. I started at the top, rolling toward myself,  and pressing the paper into the adhesive as I went.  I folded the excess to the back of the cardboard.
Step Four: Glue designs to window base.
I used Best Glue Ever and a No-Clog Writing Cap to be certain my glue went where I wanted it to and that my pieces stayed put! These ScraPerfect products always make my project a success.
Step Five: Mix 1 part black acrylic paint to 3 parts all purpose glue for window leading.
The glue mixture is grey when wet. Remember to use a glue that dries clear. When it does you will have lovely, thick, black lines. I did not leave enough room in my squeeze bottle to shake the mixture and had to use a bamboo skewer to mix it. This made the process more difficult then it had to me. Just an FYI.
Step Six: Outline all joints and paper edges with leading mixture, leave to dry.
The leading proved to be my Achilles heel. I started with a craft blond glue and paint mixture. The craft bond was too thick and ran unevenly. I had to scrape off bits of leading and start over. I was so FRUSTRATED that I had to put my project aside for a day. I made a second mixture of Elmer's Glue-All and black acrylic paint. This ran smoothly. I tested it out to get the right line thickness and was back in business.
To clean up the smears and glue overage I used Best Cleaner Ever. This eco-friendly solvent removed the dull patches on my foiled paper without damaging the paper or affecting the color.

How To Update A Planner The Quick and Easy Way

If you need quick and easy ways to update a planner this post is for you. I have three projects that will take just minutes to complete. Kick back and take it easy today!
~ Thrifted Planner ~
I bought this cute mini-binder at local thrift store. It measures 6 7/8 x 8 7/8 " and I have cut my pages to 5.5 x 8.5". The star of today's show is the Best Glue Ever. She comes to you from ScraPerfect, magically perfect products, to demonstrate these simple uses.
Binder Liner
The inside of the binder had carefully printed measurement charts and other standard Mead subjects. Useful, but not pretty. I cut and corner rounded a piece of floral printed cardstock to cover the mundane.
I used watercolors to paint the flowers and detail the lattice. The paper dried quickly with little curving.
Thin strips of the Best Glue Ever were spread around the edges of the binder with a few strips in the center.
Because this glue doesn't make the paper buckle, the final product is quite polished. The muted colors give off a shabby chic air.
 Budget Page
I needed a chart to keep track of my spending. Sometimes my need for stickers, clips, and pretty papers gets out of hand! 😏 I used a ruler to mark out my chart on graph paper. I wanted to use my new month dies but the lines are so tiny!
My bottle of Best Glue Ever is topped with a No-Clog Writing Cap. It was a breeze to add squiggles of glue to strategic points.
Bee Clip
I need to be able to flip between my weekly and monthly plan for keeping track of my activities. This happy embroidered bee patch is just the thing.
I centered a bit of foam adhesive on a circle of cardstock then added a thin strip of the Best Glue Ever around the edges. I fit the clip over the foam into the glue then added a few dots of glue on top of the foam for good measure.
I used a clothes pin to clamp the Bee Sandwich together and let it dry over night.
The Best Glue Ever spiffed my planner up quickly. I can trust the glues holding power and long lasting effect. With these easy updates I am ready to go!

How To Make A Happy Card With Bright Paint

This happy card made with bright paint all started when I received a sugar skull paper die in the mail. It has fantastic detail and cuts beautifully. I knew my ScraPerfect products would be put to good use.
~Watercolor Sugar Skull~
The base for this card is black cardstock, folded to 6.5"x 4.5". The background is a 4x6" sheet of watercolor paper. To get this look I simply painted the paper with strips of bright color. Painting with watercolor is very relaxing and so pretty!
I punched the edges of my water color paper with a border punch then used the Best Glue Ever to adhere it to the base. This glue from ScraPerfect doesn't buckle the paper and only requires a thin line.
I attached the sugar skull last. The No Clog Writing Cap made it easy to add glue only where I wanted it.

The final product is happy to see you!
